
Orlando Magic Name Flight Player Adam Waldo Harris Hometown Hero

(Orlando, FL) - Florida Flight player Adam Waldo has been honored as the Harris Hometown Hero by the Orlando Magic.
Waldo, who is also an Orange County Sheriff, will be honored during pre-game festivities before the Magic face off against the NBA defending champion Miami Heat on Wednesday, November 20th .
The Harris Hometown Hero is an Orlando Magic initiative that recognizes a first responder whom has exemplified extraordinary community service and leadership in the tri-county area.
Waldo has spent an extraordinary amount of time assisting other Orlando Magic staff, players and community ambassadors with various camps and clinics throughout central Florida.
"I'm so humbled to receive this honor from the Magic," said Waldo. "I give God all the glory. He's given me so many great opportunities that I wouldn't be able to accept without the love and support of great family and friends!"
Waldo recently participated in an invite-only work out for the Reno Big Horns, the NBA D-League affiliate for the Sacramento Kings.
"Adam epitomizes Florida Flight basketball," said Mark King, Owner of the Florida Flight. "Our mission is to utilize the platform of professional basketball to invest in the lives of others. Every time we get an opportunity to speak to the youth, assist with a basketball clinic, or invest in the lives of anyone with the platform God has given us, Adam is always there.
He's well deserving of this award."
"I know that God wants me to use my basketball talent help others," explained Waldo. "That's what I love about the Orlando Magic and the Florida Flight. Both teams spend a lot of time and energy in the community, and it's a blessing to be a part of that."
If he doesn't sign with the Reno Big Horns, Waldo will be back in action on the basketball court in Orlando at the Florida Flight's 4th Annual Holiday Toy Drive Charity Basketball Game on Saturday, December 14th . The game will take place at the Downtown Recreation Center, former practice facility of the Orlando Magic, located at 649 W. Livingston Street.
