Florida Flight Pass First Test, Defeat Skillz Athletics 142-112

The Florida Flight took to the court for the first time in the franchise's history on Sunday afternoon, playing their lone exhibition game against Skillz Athletics.

Playing before an enthusiastic home crowd at the Kissimmee Civic Center, the Flight shredded the Skillz Athletics defense and captured the contest 142-112.

Yusuf Baker led nine Flight players in double-figure scoring with 18 points. He was a dominating presence inside as he also collected a team-high nine rebounds and blocked three shots. Dwayne Foreman scored 16 for the Flight, hitting all three of his shots from behind the arc. Foreman also dished out seven assists and tied for the team lead in steals with three.

Other performances of note include Garvin Gordon, who made all seven of his field goal attempts en route to a 15-point day; and Matt Turner, who also chipped in with 15.

Antwan Ruise led Skillz Athletics with 28 points, while Steven Williams added 27.

The Flight open their regular season on Tuesday, May 11 with a home contest against the Jacksonville Bluewaves. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:30.
