Florida Flight Knock Off Gwinnett Majic

The Florida Flight (2-1) rallied in the second half and pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a 131-117 win over the Gwinnett Majic in World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) action Thursday night in Kissimmee, Fla. Gwinnett (2-1), the defending WBA champions, led 24-22 after the opening period and 55-51 at halftime. However, Florida outscored Gwinnett 36-29 in the third quarter to take an 87-84 lead into the fourth quarter. The Flight took control in the final 12 minutes, outscoring the Majic, 44-33, to extend their lead and earn their second straight win. Trevor Bing led the Flight with 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He also added three assists and three rebounds as well. Dwayne Foreman had 21 points and 10 assists, Willie Irick scored 18 and had six rebounds, Lamont Houston tossed in 17, Alex Hill had 12 with five rebounds and two steals and Yusuf Baker finished with 10 and nine rebounds in the victory. For Gwinnett, which had its two-game winning streak snapped, Javon Randolph led the way with a game-high 33 points and eight rebounds. B.J. Puckett had 26 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots, Adrien Borders had 19 and Darren Williams 16 for the Majic. Florida is back in action tonight, traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., to take on the Jacksonville BlueWaves in a 7 p.m. game, while Gwinnett is off until Saturday, when the Majic hosts Jacksonville at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Ga. Tipoff for the Gwinnett-Jacksonville game is scheduled for 6 p.m. The WBA Exposure League serves as a training ground to develop players on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on exposure, development, community involvement, and most importantly providing an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment.
