TODAY'S GAME: Rubber match of a three-game series against the Clearwater Threshers (PHI) from Spectrum Field (1-1)... Finale of a six-game road trip against the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Threshers (2-3)...Florida is coming off a 1-2 series loss to the Blue Jays at Dunedin Stadium...Fourth and final series (12 games) against the Philadelphia Phillies' affiliate, with seven coming at Spectrum Field (2-4)...The Atlanta Braves' dropped three of four against Clearwater on the road from June 1-3... The series in Clearwater wraps up a stretch of 23 games in 21 days for the Fire Frogs.

TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 23-year-old Jeremy Walker makes his 19th start of 2018 in the rubber match against the Clearwater Threshers on Saturday night...The 6'5" hurler did not factor into the decision of a 5-2 loss to the Dunedin Blue Jays at Dunedin Stadium on July 16...The right-hander allowed two runs on a two-run home run to Kacy Clemens in the second inning, but did not allow any other men to cross the plate in his other four innings of work...The Gardner-Webb product finished with the two runs allowed through five innings on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts on 92 pitches (57 strikes)...Saturday will be Walker's first career start against the Threshers.

LATE SLAM DOWNS FLORIDA IN MIDDLE GAME: The Florida Fire Frogs took a 1-0 lead into the eighth inning of Friday's contest against the Clearwater Threshers, but a grand slam by Jose Pujols turned the one-run advantage into a three-run deficit, as the visitors eventually fell, 4-2, at Spectrum Field.

Cristian Pache doubled to leadoff the game and came around to score on a double play hit into by Garrison Schwartz for the early, 1-0 lead. Kyle Muller tossed seven scoreless, three-hit innings before allowing the fatal blow in the eighth.

CROSSING THE CENTURY MARK: Cristian Pache started Friday's contest with a double to left to become the first player in the Florida State League to pick up 100 hits for the 2018 season...The 19-year-old tallied 132 hits through 119 games in 2017, and is up to 101 in 88 contests during his third professional season...All eight of the centerfielder's career home runs have come this season, and the native of the Dominican Republic has a career-high, 31 extra-base hits during the current campaign.

BECOMING THE KING: Jared James picked up a hit and two free passes to extend his hitting streak to six games...The 24-year-old is hitting .290 through the fourth month of the season, with a .361 mark over his last 10 games...The outfielder has raised his average 32 points from .217 from .249 during his six-game hitting streak from July 14-20, going 12-for-22 with eight runs scored and nine RBI.
