
Flight Use 3-Pointers To Upend North Charleston 86-72 Monday Night

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Mar. 10) â Jermaine Walker and A.J. Guyton combined to hit eight of the Flight's nine 3-pointers as Huntsville finished a three-game road swing with a 96-82 triumph at North Charleston Monday night.
Walker tallied a game-high 20 points for the Flight as he hit 3-of-5 long-range jumpers, while Guyton converted 5-of-6 from beyond the arc to score 19 points. Joining them in double figures for the Flight was Lonnie Harrell with 12 points and Art Long, who added 10.
Despite recording a season-high tying 23 turnovers that led to 31 Lowgator points, the Flight converted 47.8 percent from the floor by making 33-of-69 shots. Huntsville also outrebounded the home squad 53-37 in the contest, as Ike Nwankwo recorded 14 boards for the second straight game.
Up 61-60 heading into the final quarter, the Flight scored eight of the first 10 points of the final quarter and outscored the Lowgators 25-12 in the final 10 minutes.
The Lowgators (23-22) lost for the third straight time despite getting a season-high 31 points from Corey Benjamin. The Flight, though, held Benjamin to just six points in the final period. Sedric Webber added 18 points for North Charleston and Damone Brown chipped in 10.
With the win, the Flight moves into seventh place in the standings and is just three games out of fourth place with five left to play.
The Flight return home Thursday as they take on league-leading Fayetteville (30-15) in a 7:30 p.m. contest at the Von Braun Center. The game starts a string of playing four of the final five regular season contests at the VBC.
