November 16, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Utah Flash News Release
OREM, Utah, Nov. 16, 2009 - Head coach Brad Jones said he saw some encouraging things as the Utah Flash tipped off training camp for the 2009-10 season. Before trimming the roster down the Flash will participate in an intersquad scrimmage, open to the public at the McKay Events Center. The scrimmage will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Seventeen players, including local standouts Lee Cummard and Luke Nevill, have started off training camp with drills from Jones and his staff on Flash offensive and defensive schemes, conditioning, passing and shooting. Most practices are finishing with several mini-scrimmages.
"It's been a very intense first two days, guys have worked hard," said head coach Brad Jones. "It's nice to have guys back off a successful season, and hopefully that intensity stays consistent as we prepare for our first five games on the road."
On Monday Nov. 23, the Flash travel to Burley, Idaho for the third straight year to face Western Division rival Idaho Stampede in the lone exhibition game prior to the 2009-10 season getting underway Nov. 27 at Tulsa. The Flash plays it first home game when the Dakota Wizards visits the McKay Events Center on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
