Western New York Flash News Release

ELMA, N.Y. (Friday, July 31, 2015) - After three-straight games at home, the Western New York Flash embarks on a four-game road trip starting with a 7 p.m. ET matchup at Sky Blue FC on Saturday night.

Saturday's match will be streamed live on YouTube and can be watched by clicking the link here. Fans can also follow live play-by-play at the Flash's official Twitter page, @WNYFlash, and can join the conversation by using the hashtag #SBFCvWNYF.

The two teams are separated by just one point in the table, as the Flash (4-7-3, 15 points) currently hold seventh place and Sky Blue (3-6-5, 14 points) sits in eighth place. Fourteen games in, Western New York is still in the playoff picture and the next four upcoming road matches will be extremely important for the team's final push. The club will look to turn the table on its away-from-home fortunes, as it has gone 1-4-1 outside of Rochester so far this season.

The Flash enter Saturday's game, the team's third match in eight days, after dropping a 2-0 decision to the Portland Thorns in Rochester Wednesday evening. It was the second-consecutive game the Flash was shutout, having last hit the back of the net in a 3-3 draw against Sky Blue when the team came to Rochester on July 19.

Thorns forward Christine Sinclair posted a goal and an assist in the match, scoring first in the opening 45 minutes and later sending the ball to Allie Long in the second half. The Flash had a number of scoring opportunities, in the first half especially, but could not break Portland goalkeeper Michelle Betos.

Sky Blue will be coming in on a full week's rest, with its last match on July 25 against the Boston Breakers. Sky Blue broke out to a 2-0 lead in the first half behind two goals from Kelley O'Hara, then former Flash forward Samantha Kerr added another insurance goal at the 52-minute mark. The Breakers ended the shutout bid in the 83rd minute on a goal from Lauren Lazo.

Following Saturday, the Flash remains on the road for another three games, next heading to Kansas City to face the Blues at Swope Soccer Village. The match on Saturday, August 8 kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.

Western New York is back at Sahlen's Stadium on August 29 against the Chicago Red Stars. The game will be the team's annual Pink game, with limited-edition pink jerseys worn and raffled off after the game as well as player-designed and local business donated basket raffles. All proceeds of the raffles will be donated to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Tickets for the Flash's remaining two home matches are available at wnyflash.com or by phone at (716) 655-PLAY or (585) 454-KICK. Group ticket discounts are available for parties of 10 or more.
