Flames Sign Joe Goodenow to Tryout

Saint John, NB – The Saint John Flames announced today that they have signed 22-year-old center Joe Goodenow to a 25-game Amateur Tryout Agreement. Goodenow has spent the past four seasons with the Michigan State Hockey program.

In 41 games with Michigan State last season, Goodenow recorded 18 points (11 goals and 7 assists) and 38 penalty minutes. In 122 career NCAA contests with Michigan State, the 5'10", 177 lb native of Toronto, Ontario has recorded 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) and 109 penalty minutes.

The Saint John Flames also announced today that Dwayne Hay has been assigned to the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL.

The Flames host the Providence Bruins tonight to mark the beginning of Saint John's tenth season as a member of the American Hockey League. The Flames return to action at Harbour Station tomorrow, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. on Magnetic Schedule night. All fans in attendance will receive a 2002-03 tenth anniversary magnetic schedule compliments of Dundee Securities. The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the AHL and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
