Calgary, AB - Sven Baertschi continued right where he left off in Penticton, as he collected a goal and an assist in a 4-0 Flames win over the University of Calgary Dinos at Father David Bauer Arena.

Baertschi opened the scoring at 4:29 of the second period with a low five-hole shot. The 18-year-old Swiss talent took a pass from Roman Horak, who was fed by defender Reid Jackson; both earned an assist. Later in the second frame Baertschi returned the favour as he set up a Jackson point blast that with the help of a Roman Horak screen, made it 2-0 Flames at 7:53. Next, Heat sophomore Gaelan Patterson broke down the left wing and let a shot go, but was denied; Lance Bouma pounced on the rebound and deposited it in the net for his second goal in as many games.

In the third a great individual effort by Michael Ferland saw him dangle through a defender before spotting Blake Gal with a wide-open look from the slot; Gal rifled the puck top-shelf to extend the lead to four goals at 2:25 of the third. Mitch Wahl also garnered an assist on the play.

Joni Ortio continues to round into form as he frustrated the Dinos with a few multi-save sequences in tight. Heat Head Coach Troy Ward "I thought in the second period he made a couple key saves. His progression throughout the last week with us has been really good; I think he's grown confidence-wise." The 20-year-old net-minder who played with TPS Turku of the SM liiga in Finland last season made 14 saves in the shutout performance.

Tory Ward reflected on the victory saying "we were really happy with our effort tonight in all three zones.
