Flames Assign Irving to Heat

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today they have assigned goaltender Leland Irving to the Abbotsford Heat (AHL).

Irving, a native of Swan Hills, Alberta, played in his first four NHL games and earned his first ever win on December 23rd making 29 saves in a 3-1 road win in Vancouver. He had a .908% save percentage and a 3.67 goals against average with a 1-1-2 record.

The Heat are currently on break for the AHL All-Star Classic; Abbotsford resumes action in Rochester on February 2nd for their first meeting of the season against the Americans. Clay Wilson, Krys Kolanos and Brian Connelly are in Atlantic City taking part in the annual AHL All-Star game. The trio will re-join the team in Rochester in early February.
