'Canes Recall Drayson Bowman from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that team has recalled forward Drayson Bowman from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Hurricanes forward Chad LaRose is day-to-day due to illness.

Bowman, 22, has skated in 13 NHL games for Carolina this season, registering two goals and three assists (5 points). Born in Grand Rapids, MI, but raised in Littleton, CO, Bowman has totaled 11 goals and 11 assists (22 points) in 34 AHL games with Charlotte in 2011-12, and is second among Checkers forwards in plus/minus (+3). Carolina's third-round draft pick (72nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bowman (6'1", 190 lbs.) has tallied four goals, four assists (8 points) and 16 penalty minutes in 45 career NHL games with the Hurricanes.
