Flame Surge Ahead In Fourth Quarter to Take 109-99 Victory over Dazzle

ROANOKE, Va., Dec. 2 - The Florida Flame, behind a 33-point effort from Bracey Wright waited until the fourth quarter to surge ahead of the Roanoke Dazzle and take a 109-99 victory at the Roanoke Civic Center.

The Flame trailed to Dazzle most of the game falling behind the Dazzle by four points at the end of the third quarter 78-82. Twelve points from Wright in the final stanza, pulled the Flame ahead to a 15-point lead with less than a minute left in the game. The Flame held on for a comfortable 10-point win.

Flame Coach Jeff Malone was pleased that his team got the win but wants to see more from his team throughout the game saying "We have to start making better shots. We shoot more airballs than any team I've ever seen."

For a team, four Flame players reached double figures including Wright's game-high 33, Theron Smith added 24, Hirum Fuller had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Andre Barrett chipped in with 17 points.

After controlling most of the game, the Dazzle helped the Flame cause by going cold in the fourth, only scoring 17 points as a team, only hitting 7 of 21 shots in the stanza.

The Dazzle had a balanced scoring effort with six players reaching double figures. Isiah Victor led the Dazzle with a season-high 23 points, Kevin Owens recorded his first double-double of the season scoring 17 points off the bench along with a game-high 15 rebounds, Peter Ramos also had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Anthony Grundy and Seth Doliboa both put up 13 points and Malik Moore chipped in10.

Dazzle Head Coach Kent Davison said "I was pleased with some of the plays we made through the first three quarters. We just stopped playing in the fourth."

The Dazzle, 2-3 on the season, will try to even up the season series tomorrow as they again face the Flame, who are now 2-1 on the season, at the Roanoke Civic Center with the tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
