Flame Reacquires Forward Jonathan Moore

FORT MYERS, Fla., March 1 - According to an announcement by Head Coach Jeff Malone, the Florida Flame has reacquired forward Jonathan Moore from the NBA Development League available player pool.

Moore, a 6-8, 185-pound rookie appeared in 24 games with one start this season for the Flame before being released on February 12. Originally, Moore was selected by Florida in the fourth round of the 2005 D-League Draft. He averaged 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per contest with the Flame and posted a season-high 12 points at Forth Worth on January 24.

This past summer, Moore participated in the 2005 Reebok Vegas Summer League with the Los Angeles Clippers. As a collegian, Moore earned NABC Division II All-District First Team, Daktronics Division II All-Region Second Team, and All-CIAA honors as a senior at UNC-Central in 2004-05, averaging 19.4 points (2nd in the CIAA) and 8.8 rebounds (3rd) per game. Moore was an early entry candidate for the 2004 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration. He started his collegiate career at East Carolina before transferring to North Carolina Central.

Moore is expected to be in uniform for the Flame in their next game versus Fayetteville on February 5. He will wear jersey #25.

Florida (20-14) returns to action this Sunday, March 5, as the Flame continue their four-game homestand against the Fayetteville Patriots (6-24). Tip-off at Germain Arena is 5 p.m. ET. Florida rounds out its homestand on Tuesday, March 7 versus Fayetteville with tip-off set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The Flame will be celebrating their first annual "Faith and Family Night", which will feature a live halftime concert performance from Christian recording artist Kayla Powell.
