Five Tobs Selected to All-Star Team, Fan Voting Now Open

We are proud to announce five Tobs selected to the 2019 Coastal Plain League All-Star team! With Michael Calamari, Nate Fiala, Hunter Gore, Deshawn Lookout, and Jimmy Sharkey all selected so far, the Tobs will be well represented in Savannah during the CPL All-Star Showdown.

Michael Calamari

Michael Calamari has been a consistently stellar player since joining the Tobs, posting spectacular all-around stats and cementing himself as a key player in the lineup night in and night out. Currently batting a team leading .321 with a .400 On Base Percentage, Calamari has also hit two Home Runs and nine RBIs while playing well on the defensive side as well, posting a perfect 1.000 Fielding Percentage in his time as the first baseman for the Tobs.

Nate Fiala

Nate Fiala has been a dominant force when on the pitcher's mound for the Tobs this season, posting the lowest ERA on the team in three appearances so far this season. Fiala has a perfect 2-0 record this season in two starts, striking out 13 batters in 15.0 innings on the way to an amazing 0.60 ERA. Allowing only one run off of his only allowed home run of the season, Nate Fiala has been a great presence for the Tobs all season.

Hunter Gore

Hunter Gore has been one of the most powerful players for the Wilson Tobs this past season, utilizing his strength to become a feared bat over the past season. Batting .238 on the season with a .422 On Base Percentage, Gore has also hit 13 RBIs and a Home Run this season, leading the team with eight Extra Base Hits. Playing a combination of both catcher and outfielder for the Tobs, Gore has played well wherever he happens to be, and is a fixture in the lineup.

Deshawn Lookout

Deshawn Lookout has been an electric presence in the Tobs lineup this past season, as he leads the team in multiple categories, including RBIs and Home Runs. Batting .241 with a .337 On Base Percentage, Lookout has hit an astonishing 17 RBIs (good for 5th in the league) while also hitting three Home Runs as he has spearheaded the Tobs offense. Playing a variety of positions along the base path on defense, Lookout has primarily played Shortstop and as an Outfielder this season, dazzling with several impressive putouts.

Jimmy Sharkey

Jimmy Sharkey has been an excellent Relief Pitcher for the Tobs this season, appearing in a team-high ten games so far this season. In 10.1 innings of work, Sharkey has an Earned Run Average of 4.35, allowing only five runs while striking out 15 opposing batters. Recording the only save of the season for the Tobs, Sharkey has been a consistently solid presence out of the bullpen for the Tobs.

The Tobs representation in Savannah isn't done yet though! Instead of fans only getting to vote in the final roster spot for each All-Star team like in years past, this season fans are in control of an entire team! Voting will start Tuesday, June 25 at 5 p.m. ET and end Thursday, June 27th at 5 p.m. ET - giving fans a full 48 hours to vote for who they best deserves a spot on the Fan All-Star roster.
