
Five New Players sign with the Marion Mayhem

The Mayhem is proud to annouce the signing of Maurice Lee to be contracted for the 2009 season. Maurice "Moe" Lee come to the Marion Mayhem after being a member of interstate rival Miami Valley. Lee also has experience in the National Indoor Football League, American Indoor Football League and the American Indoor Football Association.
In 2005, Lee led the NIFL in all purpose yards and was a first team All-Star selection. Lee also grabbed first team All-Star selections in the AIFA and the AIFL. As a member of the Silverbacks in 2006, Lee broke the league's single game record for receptions, yards, and TD receptions. Moe had 15 catches for 191 yards and 6 TD's to set the record. Later that season he broke his own records with 17 catches for 197 yards and 7 TD's. Lee finished the season with 90 catches for 1,285 yards and 29 TD's and was voted to the All-Star Team.
Prior to turning pro, Lee was a part of the 2002 National Championship team at The Ohio State University. He played with the Buckeyes from 1999- 2002. He has a B.A. Education/Sports and Leisure Studies, 2004.
The Mayhem also announces the signing of WR Justin Sayre for the 2009 season. Sayre brings 3 seasons of collegiate experience with Ohio Dominican University. This will be his first stint as a professional. Sayre, an All-League performer in the 2006 & 2007 seasons with the Panthers is a very versatile WR with raw talent. Sayre is tough, runs great routes and has the speed needed on the perimeter. Sayre played receiver and returner for the Panthers for his final 2 seasons.
"Having Justin become a member of our organization will greatly improve the quality of our receivers as a group. Sayre possesses all of the tools that are needed to excel in our offense. He can also help us in the return game with his explosiveness. The addition of Justin Sayre with help to improve what was already an explosive offense from last year. Justin possesses the Championship attitude that is needed to be a part of our team," commented Pearson.
Sayre comes from Ohio Dominican University who currently competes in the NAIA. Sayre finished his collegiate career with 191 receptions for 2,650 yards receiving and 28 TD's with a 13.1 avg. Sayre also returned punts where he had 44 returns for 509 yards with an 11.6 return avg. He helped advance the Panthers to the second round of the NAIA play-offs in the 2007 season. He was an All Conference performer.
Jared Stace has signed with the Marion Mayhem Professional Indoor Football Team as WR for the 2009 season. Stace brings 3 seasons of collegiate experience with Ohio Dominican University. This will be his first stint as a professional. Some of Jared's accolades include being a team captain for the Panthers, an All-American, and NAIA East All Region Team member. Stace has an uncanny ability to work the slot receiver postion and is a natural doing so. Stace also has the toughness to play at this level and he runs great routes and has the speed needed on the perimeter. Stace played receiver and some kickoff return for the Panthers during his final 2 seasons.
Stace comes from Ohio Dominican University who currently competes in the NAIA. Stace finished his collegiate career with 223 receptions for 2,741 yards receiving and 29 TD's with a 12.3 avg. As a senior he had a career game high with 11 receptions and established new career highs with 176 yards and three scores in a win against the #2 ranked St. Xavier University. Stace also returned kickoffs where he had 12 returns for 209 yards with a 17.4 return avg. He helped advance the Panthers to the second round of the NAIA play-offs in the 2007 season. He was an All Conference performer.

He can also help us in the kicking game as a holder. The addition of Jared will help to improve what was already an explosive offense from last year. Jared possesses the Championship attitude that is needed to be a part of our team." commented Pearson.
The Mayhem is also proud to announce the signing of OL Matthew Pierce. Pierce brings 4 seasons of collegiate experience with Ohio Dominican University. This will be his first stint as a professional.
Matthew was the only player to start every game of his career at ODU (43 Career Starts). Pierce helped take 4th year ODU to 2nd round of playoffs and a 12-1 record in 2007. Pierce is a fierce competitor who anchored a very strong offensive line at Ohio Dominican. Matthew was a part of the reason for Chris Riesert breaking all of the school passing records as well as being the Mid-States Football Association's most prolific passer who owns 10 NAIA offensive records, including most touchdowns responsible for the 2007 season with 57. Matthew was a 2 Time First Team All-MSFA, 2 Time VSN Honorable mention All-American, and 2 Time Honorable mention All-MSFA.
"Matthew will make an immediate impact on our offensive line. He definitely has all of the tools needed as an offensive lineman to compete at this level. His competitivesness, hard work and toughness are just a few of his strengths. Having Matthew Pierce become a memeber of our organization will greatly improve the quality of our offensive line. The Marion Mayhem has also signed CB/S Brian Braddy. Braddy brings 3 seasons of collegiate experience with Ohio Dominican University. This will be his first stint as a professional.
In 2007 Brian played in 12 of the Panthers 13 games in his junior season...Quickly became a leader in the secondary for the Panthers at free safety. Was fifth on the team among defensive backs with 42 tackles. Brady had one interception and five pass deflections. Came on strong late in the season recording a career high 10 tackles against Malone College and nine stops in the Panthers play-off game versus Missouri Valley. Only interception of the season came against his former team Urbana University. Named one of four captains for the 2008 season. In 2006 Braddy saw action in all 10 Panther contests. Emerged as a key member of the ODU secondary..Recorderd 27 tackles and two pass break-ups. Most active game was on October 7th versus Malone College when he notched seven stops. Braddy was a three sport athlete from Eastmoor High School. Selected as the Team Captain for football, wrestling and track. Earned six varsity letters, two in football, three in wrestling and one in track. Selected to the First Team All--City League and Honorable Mention All-District. Played in the City League versus Occ All-Star game and was named the Defensive MVP. Honor Roll student at Eastmoor.
"Having Brain Braddy become a memeber of our organization will greatly improve the quality of our secondary as a group. His ability to play both CB and S gives Defensive coordinator Rodney Swanigan the ability to be more aggressive with our defense. Braddy possesses the Championship attitude that is needed to be a part of our team," commented Pearson.
