(Cleveland, OH) A six-yard touchdown pass from Stanley Jackson to Ian Schmidt with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter iced a thrilling 61-57 Marion Mayhem victory over the Wheeling Wildcats at the Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling tonight.

Jackson, in his first start since getting injured in the season opener against the Wildcats, had a sterling game, engineering five touchdown passes in the winning effort, three to Schmidt, and one each to Calvin Weaver, and Tavares Woodley, who switched from his usual quarterback position to wide receiver for the evening's festivities.

Maurice Douse ran in the first touchdown of the game, and Jared Stace and Calvin Weaver each scored on the ground in the second.

Mike Tatum tallied the most exciting touchdown of the game, running back a fifty-one yard touchdown midway through the second quarter for the Mayhem.

Rod Rutherford had a superb game for the Wildcats, throwing for five touchdowns, and running for two.

The win ensured that the Mayhem (4-2) maintain their lead in the CIFL's Eastern Division. The Wildcats drop to 1-5.

However, the Mayhem were impressed with the expansion Wildcats.

"They're the best 1-5 team we've ever played," Mayhem wide receiver Ian Schmidt said on the team's post-game radio show after the game.

The Mayhem's next home game will be on Saturday night, May 2nd when the Miami Valley Silverbacks invade the Coliseum for a 7:30PM kickoff.
