
Five FC Dallas Players Travel To South Africa With Generation adidas

FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009) - Eric Avila, Bruno Guarda, Josh Lambo, Peri Marosevic and Brek Shea are among 18 Major League Soccer players traveling to South Africa, host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, for an 11-day Generation adidas trip.
The first stop for the Generation adidas athletes is the home of former South African President Nelson Mandela. Later, the players will attend the opening of the first FIFA Football for Hope Centre, the first of 20 centers part of an initiative to use the sport of soccer to bring positive social change to Africa and built in partnership with FIFA and streetfootballworld.
While in South Africa, the Generation adidas squad will play two friendly matches versus the Orlando Pirates reserves and the AJAX Cape Town reserves with a third friendly to be determined.
The players also will attend the world-wide viewed 2010 World Cup Draw on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Cape Town International Convention Center before departing the country on Dec. 7.
