Five Announce Signing of Canadian Yohanny Dalembert

(Greater Sudbury, ON) In anticipation of the Five's game in Kitchener this evening, the Sudbury FIVE are pleased to announce the signing of Canadian Forward Yohanny Dalembert to a standard player agreement. The 6' 8" Port-au-Prince, Haiti native spent last season with the London Lightning in the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in a limited role with the club.

A graduate of Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia, the same school Kobe Bryant and 2018 NBL Canada MVP Garrett Williamson attended, Dalembert played collegiate basketball at James Madison University. In his four years at JMU, Yohanny per game averaged 8.1 points, adding 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

Dalembert, the younger brother of former NBA player Samuel Dalembert, is a Canadian-Haitian dual citizen. Dalembert was one of the survivors of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake that killed over 100,00 people.

"We're very excited to have Yohanny join us early on in the season," said Head Coach and General Manager Logan Stutz. "Yohanny is a high-energy player with a great defensive mindset. We'll look to him to both defend the basket while also relying on his rebounding on offense."

The Sudbury FIVE return to the Sudbury Community arena for two games this weekend. The Five welcome the defending champion London Lightning on Saturday at 7:05 PM, before opening their doors to the Halifax Hurricanes in an afternoon game on Sunday for the only time this season. Game time is 2:05pm. Tickets can be purchased online at thefive.ca or in person at the Sudbury Arena Box Office.
