Fisher Cats win third straight, 3-1, over Mets Tuesday night

Manchester, NH - Jesse Litsch retired the first 15 batters in a solid start as the Fisher Cats topped Binghamton 3-1 Tuesday night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Litsch (2-1) allowed one hit, a sixth inning leadoff single by RF Caleb Stewart (2-for-3), while walking two and striking out six.

Sergio Santos (2-for-3) and Dustin Majewski (2-for-4) combined for the only four hits New Hampshire had in the game. Majewski led off with a single against Binghamton starter and loser Kevin Mulvey. He advanced to second on a balk and went to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a ground out by Robinzon Diaz to make it 1-0.

The Fisher Cats scored two in the fourth inning, one coming in on a sacrifice fly by David Smith.

Jo Matumoto earned his first save, striking out Mike Carp and Brett Harper as the tying runs in the ninth inning. Former Fisher Cat Miguel Negron, now with Binghamton, had a ninth inning RBI single to make it 3-1.

The Fisher Cats and Mets play the third game of their four-game set Tuesday night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium beginning at 6:35pm. Right-hander Mike MacDonald (3-0, 2.45) takes the mound for New Hampshire against Binghamton right-hander Jose Sanchez (0-0, 2.00).
