First Three Former Storm Players Move on to 2nd Round

Kearney, Neb. - Former Captain Kenny Brooks, All-Star Jaden Schwartz and defenseman Jason Binkley are the first three Storm alumni to advance to the second round in their leagues' playoffs. The St. Louis Blues forward Schwartz recorded two game-winning goals and five points in five games against Minnesota to advance the club to the second round against Nashville.

Binkley (Fort Wayne, ECHL) led Komets defensemen with three points (1g, 2a) in opening-series triumph against Quad City. Brooks plays for the ECHL's Colorado Eagles and the club takes on Allen in the next round. Schwartz and the Blues host Nashville on Wednesday.

Pheonix Copley (Hershey) tops AHL netminders with two wins, a 1.88 goals against average, .939 save percentage and one shutout in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Hershey has jumped out to a 2-0 series edge against in-state foe Lehigh Valley.

Eight former players are still alive in the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs. Desmond Bergin (Greenville, ECHL) looks to force a Game 7 vs. South Carolina Monday. Call 308-338-8144 to register for 2017-18 Storm season tickets. The Viaero Center Box Office is open Monday-Friday from 11-5.

Will face winner of Toledo-Kalamazoo. Colorado (Kenny Brooks) wins series vs. Idaho (Charlie Dodero), 4-1. Colorado faces Allen in the second round.
