June 26, 2014 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - The first-place Denver Outlaws will hold their annual Independence Day Celebration game on Friday, July 4 at 7 p.m. MDT at Sports Authority Field at Mile High against the Boston Cannons.
The Mile High Fourth of July is presented by Miller Lite and offers Denver's best Fourth of July close-proximity experience with fireworks launched from inside the bowl at Sports Authority Field. The fireworks are paired with a music video tribute on the stadium's 220 feet long by 40 foot high THUNDERVISION screen.
"We are excited and looking forward to continuing the tradition of hosting Mile High Fourth of July here at the Stadium," Director of Sales and Marketing Ted Tseng said. "Each and every year we believe we offer the best post-game fireworks in town and our fans have been wonderful in making it a memorable and successful event each and every year."
Produced by Zambelli Fireworks, the post-game fireworks will feature the latest in close proximity pyrotechnics designed and utilized with the utmost confidence in both indoor and outdoor venues including rooftops, stadiums, theaters, amusement parks and convention centers.
Since their inaugural season in 2006, the Outlaws have set a professional lacrosse attendance record with each Independence Day Celebration game. Last July 4, the Outlaws set an attendance record for the eighth-straight year as 31,019 fans watched the team defeat the New York Lizards 16-7.
The team hopes to set another attendance record this year and fellow Denver athletes including Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler and Denver Nuggets C J.J. Hickson have worked with the Denver Outlaws to encourage fans to support the team's efforts to top last year's attendance mark and set yet another record.
Additionally, the Outlaws will be at Lamar's Donuts in Westminster from 7-9 a.m. MDT Friday, June 27th as part of their #FreeDonutFriday giveaway series.
A total of 189,606 fans have come through the turnstiles at Sports Authority Field for the eight games that have been played to date. The increased fan support has translated onto the field, as is demonstrated by the team's 6-2 record on Independence Day Celebration games.
The team is offering a package deal with Elitch Gardens and the 4th of July game. The Elitch Gardens ticket can be used for any regular operating day at the theme and water park. Those tickets are available via Ticketmaster using the promo code JULY4.
Tickets for the game start at just $22 and can be purchased online at http://www.denveroutlaws.com/single-game/ or over the phone by calling 303-OUTLAWS.
