Richfield, MN - A three-goal first period fueled the St. Cloud Norsemen to a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Magicians on Saturday night in Richfield.

The Norsemen controlled the pace of play from the early moments and were rewarded with the opening goal by Brendan Kim, his second of the season. Minutes later, St. Cloud doubled its lead with a short-handed goal from Jackson Sabo. Near the end of the frame, Jack Reimann grew the margin to three goals with his third of the season.

In the third, the Norsemen extended their lead to 4-0 after a Nik Hong goal before a pair of Magicians goals from Will Svendall and Robert Christy brought the hosts within two. A late, empty-net goal from Blake Mesenburg would solidify a 5-2 decision for St. Cloud.

With the win, the Norsemen improve to 6-14-0 and will take on the Bismarck Bobcats on Friday, February 12 at 7:15PM in Bismarck, ND. Mark Shelley will provide the Play-By-Play on the Lyon Sheet Metal & Heating Norsemen Network beginning at 7:10PM on HockeyTV.
