
First Citizens Named Official Banking Partner of Courage

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (March 31, 2003) - Raleigh-based First Citizens Bank has signed an agreement to become a Gold Level Sponsor and Official Banking Partner of the Carolina Courage for checking and savings account services.
"We are delighted to have First Citizens Bank as our exclusive banking partner," said Courage General Manager Scott Travasos. "It's clear that the bank takes seriously its responsibility to the community. Corporate partners, like First Citizens, are a critical element in the success of women's professional soccer. "
First Citizens Bank has more than 1,500 associates in Wake County at its 24 branches, corporate offices and data processing center.

First Citizens Bank will participate with the Carolina Courage in various public relations, marketing and community activities. A highlight of the upcoming season will be First Citizens Bank Night on Wed., July 30, when the Courage plays the San Jose CyberRays.

The Courage will begin its defense of the Founders Cup trophy on Saturday, April 5th at 2 pm at SAS Stadium in Cary. The season will begin in dramatic fashion with a rematch of the championship game, as Mia Hamm and the Washington Freedom come to town.
