Courage to Participate in Bulls' 'Night of Champions'

Morrisville, NC (April 2, 2003) - The 2002 WUSA Founders Cup champion Carolina Courage will take part in the Durham Bulls' pre-game festivities at opening night on Thursday, April 3.

As part of the "Night of Champions", the Durham Bulls will be honoring local high school state champions, collegiate National Champions and the WUSA Champion Carolina Courage. Beginning at 6:40 PM, the Champions Parade begins on the field. Included in the parade are 2002 track & field National Champions from North Carolina Central University and the University of North Carolina, the 2003 CIAA Champion Shaw University Lady Bears and the 2002 WUSA Champion Carolina Courage. Following the Parade, International League President Randy Mobley will present the Governor's Cup Championship rings to the coaching staff and nine returning players from last season's team.

The Courage will open its defense of the WUSA Founders Cup trophy on Saturday against Mia Hamm and the Washington Freedom at 2:00 pm at SAS Stadium in Cary. A limited number of premium seats for this historic rematch of the 2002 WUSA title game are still available, but tickets are going fast.
