Firkus becomes the first Warrior selected by the Seattle Kraken, who are entering their second season in the NHL.
He is the ninth player in Warriors' history to be taken in the second round and the first since Jett Woo was picked by the Vancouver Canucks in 2018.
After Denton Mateychuk was picked 12th overall by Columbus on Thursday, this is the first year that the Warriors have had two players taken in the first two rounds since Dylan McIlrath and Quinton Howden were picked in the first round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
