Worcester Tornadoes News Release
Worcester, MA - The Worcester Tornadoes are excited to release their 2008 promotional schedule. This year's slate of theme nights and giveaways features Guaranteed Win Nights, a Kevin Shea bobblehead night, and even more fireworks shows than in 2007.
For the first time ever, the Tornadoes will introduce "Guaranteed Win Nights" during all five Monday home games in 2008. The Tornadoes guarantee that the team will win every Monday night home game, or everyone in attendance will be able to exchange their ticket stub for a free grandstand ticket to the next Monday home game. If the Tornadoes fail to win on the final Monday night game on August 11, fans will be able to exchange their ticket stub for a free grandstand ticket for any remaining 2008 home game, pending availability.
The Tornadoes five postgame fireworks shows in 2007 were so popular, the team has added an additional three shows this year, for a total of eight fireworks shows in 2008. The shows will take place after the conclusion of the first six Friday night games, after the Thursday, July 3 game in honor of Independence Day, and on Saturday, August 23 for Fan Appreciation Night.
Some other new theme nights this year include Crazy Eights Night, Wear a Tacky Jacket Night, Win a Webkinz Night and New England Sports Night, while old favorites like Irish Night and Salsa Night will return as well. In addition to the Kevin Shea bobblehead, some giveaways planned for the 2008 season include magnetic schedules, rally towels, team photos, mouse pads, baseball cards and commemorative t-shirts that embrace Worcester as the home of the "smiley face." The Tornadoes 2008 promotional schedule can be seen in its entirety on the team website, www.worcestertornadoes.com/schedule/promotions.
