ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia defeated the BlueClaws on Friday, 2-1, in walk-off fashion. Rigoberto Terrazas plated Quinn Brodey (who doubled to begin the frame) w/ a single in the bottom of the 9th. Joe Cavallaro (W, 3-1) & Jake Simon scattered seven hits & allowed just one unearned run.

WALK IT OFF: For the first time, Columbia won back-to-back games in walk-off fashion:

- May 4 v. Lakewood: Rigoberto Terrazas single in 9th

- May 3 vs. Lexington: Raphael Gladu single in 10th

Columbia walked off a winner six times in 2017 and five times in 2016.

COLUMBIA FIREFLIES, THEY KNOW DRAMA: For a second straight night, the Fireflies played in a game decided by one run. Columbia has played in but close games of late. Nine of the last 11 games the Fireflies have played in were decided by two runs or fewer.

COLUMBIA FIREFLIES, THEY KNOW DRAMA, Pt II: In fact, nearly half (13) of Columbia's first 28 games have been decided by two or fewer runs.

HERE'S A FIRST: On Friday, Columbia won its first game of the season while scoring fewer than three runs.

THE STREAK: Jeremy Vasquez singled in his first at-bat on Friday and has now reached base safely in 27 straight games - the third-longest streak in all of professional baseball (MLB & MiLB).

The 21-year-old's streak is also a Fireflies franchise record. Vasquez leads the league in on-base percentage (.451) and walks (22) and is fifth in the SAL in batting average (.326).

CHEERS: Vasquez was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week for April 23-29. The lefty slugger hit .360 (9-for-25) with five extra-base hits (3 2Bs, 1 3B, 1 HR), four RBI, five runs scored and two walks.
