Firecats' Lineman Signs with AFL's Orlando Predators

Estero, FL- Florida Firecats OL/DL John Miller, who played with the Firecats in the later portion of the season, signed a contract to play with in the Arena Football League with the Orlando Predators in 2007.
"This is a great opportunity for him," Firecats Coach Kevin Bouis said. "He's so technically sound and can play both the center and Guard positions. His size fools you, guys may think they can overpower him, but he's just a tremendous ball player."
Despite his 6'1" 275lbs frame Miller has proven himself to be an exceptional lineman. During his senior year at the University of South Florida he was voted "Lineman of the Year" by his teammates and was an All-Big East selection anchoring the line for the conferences top rusher in 2005.
Predators Player Personnel Director Les Moss said. "He came with a strong recommendation from his college coach, he possesses tremendous technique and leverage and we look forward to getting him in camp."
The Firecats will hold their first open tryout at Estero High School Saturday November 4th. Players will be asked to participate in a Pro-Style combine. Workout attire and cleats are recommended. The tryout will be held outdoors and will begin at 11am. Last season WR/LB Brittney Tellis was discovered at an open tryout. Tellis finished the year 2nd on the team in receptions with 89 for 895 yards and 31 touchdowns.
