Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL - The Florida Firecats arenafootball2 team announced that Adam Mendelson has been named the team's new Media Relations Manager and Play-By-Play announcer for the 2008 season. Mendelson served as the team's color commentator during the 2007 season.

"I'm excited about expanding my role with the Firecats," Mendelson said. "It promises to be another successful season for an organization with a history of winning and I look forward to being behind the microphone."

For the last year and a half, Mendelson has produced "The Jon Linder Show" Sunday mornings on WWCN, "Sportsradio 770". He has also filled in as host from time-to-time. "Being a part of sports talk radio in Southwest Florida makes me realize just how passionate our fan base is," Mendelson said. "I plan to bring the same passion to each and every Firecats broadcast."

"We are excited to welcome Adam into the Firecats family," said team President and General Manager Chris Vallozzi. "He is a true professional and will provide our fans with exciting broadcasts in 2008."

Dave Parks, who has served as the radio voice of the Firecats since 2004, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Parks will continue with the team as the color commentator for all home broadcasts.

"I had the privilege of working with Adam last season and I am excited to be able to do that again this year, though our roles are now reversed," said Parks. "I am hoping to be able to use this platform to raise awareness about Hodgkin's disease."

"We are thrilled that Dave will continue to work with the team and we look forward to helping with his efforts to raise Hodgkin's awareness," Vallozzi added.
