BattleWings announce pre-season fan fest

BOSSIER CITY, LA (February 27, 2008)-The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings will hold their first annual pre-season BattlePalooza Fan Fest on Monday, March 17 from 6:00-8:00PM at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City. This FREE event is open to the public and will give fans their first look at the BattleWings' 2008 squad and the Fly Girls Dance Team.

"It's going to be a fun event for the entire family," said general manager Butch Bellah. "We'll have an inflatable jumper set up for the kids, the Fly Girls are going to perform and we hope to be able to unveil our new 2008 uniforms."

Fans will also get a behind-the-scenes look at a full practice session as head coach Jon Norris will be wearing a wireless microphone on the field as the players and coaches go through drills.

"It's going to be St. Patrick's Day," Norris added. "What a great time to bring everyone out and get ready for the season."

In addition, there will be sign up tables for boys and girls interested in the BattleWings' summer football and cheerleading camps, Booster Club information, and more. Fans wishing to purchase season tickets will be able to "pick their seat", as well.

The concession stands are going to be open and there will be drawings for BattleWings' merchandise and opportunities for fans to win passes on some bus trips for a few away games this year.

"Coach Norris came up with the name 'BattlePalooza' and that fits perfectly considering all we're going to be doing that night," said Bellah. "98 Rocks is going to be there with a live remote from 6:00-8:00 PM and I think the fans are really going to enjoy themselves."

"From our avid BattleWings' fans to newcomers, there will be something for everyone," Norris noted. "We've got a video that we'll be showing on the overhead video screen that will introduce even the novice fan to the excitement of arena football. And, best of all admission is free!"
