Florida Firecats News Release
Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are pleased to announce that they have been assigned lineman Ron Boldin by the arenafootball2 office.
Boldin stands 6-5, and he weighs 309 pounds. He comes to the Florida Firecats as an experienced offensive tackle with superb pass blocking skills. Boldin attended Florida State University from 1999 until 2001. He was a member of the 1999 Seminole national championship team.
Boldin spent time in the National Football League after his career at Florida State. The Washington Redskins signed him as an undrafted free agent in April of 2002. After his release by the Redskins, the Buffalo Bills signed him as a free agent in January of 2003. Boldin has also spent time with the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm, Grand Rapids Rampage, and the Los Angeles Avengers.
"Ron is going to strengthen our line," Chris Vallozzi, Firecats' president, said. "He is a great pickup as we make a run for the playoffs."
Boldin's cousin and fellow Seminole, Anquan Boldin, was the 2003 National Football League Rookie of the Year.
