FireAntz Coach McCauley Resigns

[Fayetteville, NC]- The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Head Coach Greg McCauley has resigned, effective immediately. Assistant Coach Sean Edwards will be named Coach for this weekend's road trip.

McCauley, who was in his first season as the head coach of the club, is returning home due to health concerns for his mother in Canada.

Thru 32 games this season, McCauley led the FireAntz to a 14-15-3 record.

"This is a very difficult decision for me, but at the end of the day, I have to be there for my mom." McCauley added, "I really enjoyed my time in Fayetteville and I think that the FireAntz have a team that still can compete for a championship."

FireAntz President/ General Manager said, "I feel for Greg and completely understand, and respect, his decision. I wish for the best for him and his family."
