WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Chicago Fire picked up an important road point, with a 1-1 tie against D.C. United tonight at RFK Stadium. D.C. United forward Luciano Emilio opened scoring in the ninth minute, but the Fire leveled the score with a goal from Generation adidas forward Patrick Nyarko early in the second half. With a record of 1-0-1 (4 points) in MLS regular season play, the Fire sit tied for first place (New England Revolution and Toronto FC) in the Eastern Conference. The Fire return to action against the New York Red Bulls for their home opener at TOYOTA PARK on April 5 (My50 Chicago, 2 p.m. CT).
