THE LAST STAND - Visit Whataburger Field this Labor Day weekend as we wrap up the 2009 season. The first 2,000 fans through the gates on Saturday receive Hooks Road Jerseys from CITGO. It's also our annual Shirt-Off-the-Back night presented by at&t. Benefiting Junior Achievement, each patron has a chance to win a Hooks game-worn jersey. HIGH FIVE - Take a look at the Hooks 5-Year Anniversary Team. This Monday, a poster featuring members of the 5-year squad will be distributed to all fans, courtesy of the Caller-Times and caller.com.
NOW SHOWING - The Open Road, starring Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges, is playing at Northshore 8 in Portland. Timberlake portrays a fictional member of the Hooks, Carlton Garrett. Bridges plays his father, a retired, legendary Astros player.Check outshow times and more about The Open Road.
COAST TO COAST - The Sixth Annual Conquer the Coast, which begins and ends at Whataburger Field, is set for September 25-26. This 65-mile ride around the Coastal Bend benefits the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Tarpon Foundation, ALS Foundation and Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation. MR. ASTRO & THE EXPRESS - Tickets to the first Miracle Dinner Under the Lights, featuring Houston Astros icon Craig Biggio and Texas Legend Nolan Ryan are on sale now.
