Final game at home ends with loss

The Reading Fightin Phils (1-1) lost to the Bowie Baysox (1-1) 10-3 on Wednesday night in what was the final home game at FirstEnergy Stadium in 2015. The ELCS will now move to Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, MD.

For the first time in the postseason the Fightin Phils did not score first. Garabez Rosa hit a two-out RBI single off Ethan Martin in the top of the first inning that gave Bowie a 1-0 lead. The Fightin Phils tied the game at 1-1 off Baysox starter Nick Additon in the bottom of the first inning as Nick Williams scored on a groundout by Andrew Knapp.

Bowie retook the lead off Martin in the top of the second inning. Corban Joseph hit a go-ahead one out RBI double that scored Ozzie Martinez and gave Bowie a 2-1 lead. Mike Yastrzemski hit a sacrifice fly in the following at-bat that scored Glynn Davis and gave Bowie a 3-1 lead.

Bowie extended their lead off Martin in the top of the third inning by scoring two more runs to take a 5-1 lead. Martin issued one-out back-to-back walks to Chance Sisco and Drew Dosch. Martin left the game after walking Dosch and Joely Rodriguez entered the game. Rodriguez got Ozzie Martinez to groundout to first-base that advanced both runners. Glynn Davis hit a two-run triple to score both Sisco and Dosch.

The Baysox scored three runs off Rodriguez to take an 8-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Quincy Latimore hit a RBI double while Gararbez Rosa added an RBI single. Rosa scored on a ball past for the third run of the inning. Andrew Knapp homered off Additon in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut Bowie's lead to 8-2.

Hoby Milner tossed 3 1/3 shutout innings with one strikeout. He faced 10 batters and retired all of them. Tom Windle entered the game in the top of the eighth inning. After issuing a leadoff walk he retired the next three batters. JP Crawford hit a RBI single off Baysox reliever Ashur Tolliver in the bottom of the eighth inning that scored Brodie Greene and made the score 8-3.

The Baysox scored two runs off Ryan O'Sullivan in the top of the ninth to take a 10-3 lead. Ozzie Martinez hit a RBI single while Glynn Davis added a sacrifice fly.

Nick Additon (2-0) earned the win for Bowie as he allowed just three runs (two earned) through seven innings. Ethan Martin (0-1) took the loss as he allowed five runs through 2 1/3 innings.

The Fightin Phils and Bowie Baysox will meet again on Thursday night in Game Three of the Eastern League Championship Series at Prince George's Stadium. First pitch is at 6:35 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:05 pm.
