Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Fighting Saints will travel to Des Moines tonight, hoping to keep their good fortunes going on the tails of both an overtime triumph and a shootout win. After a thrilling overtime victory against Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, the Fighting Saints had a little more magic in the tank on Black Friday, winning 3-2 over the Omaha Lancers on home ice as Shane Sooth tallied a penalty shot goal, an assist, and the shootout game-winner.

The Buccaneers have stabilized their record after getting off to a slow start. Though they opened the season with a 1-4-1 mark, they currently sit at .500 (7-7-1), and are tied for fourth place in the Western Conference. The Saints will play Des Moines only twice this year after matching up with the Bucs seven times in 2010-11.

Tonight's game will close out a stretch of three games in four days for the Fighting Saints, who enter the contest on a three-game winning streak. The Fighting Saints will play the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders twice next week, traveling to Cedar Rapids Arena on Friday night, and hosting the RoughRiders at the Mystique Community Ice Center on Saturday.

Tonight's game starts at 7:05 p.m., with pregame beginning at 6:35 on Dubuque's Super Hits 106, and SuperHits106.com.
