Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons of the North American Hockey League are working with the CURED Foundation, which is s a not for profit foundation dedicated to those suffering from eosinophilic enteropathy, on a ticket sales fundraiser for the Saturday, March 16 home game against the Soo Eagles.
Eosiniophilic enteropathy, or EOS, is a rare white blood cell disorder that treats foods as parasites. Jayse Rowe, a two-year-old from Port Huron, suffers from EOS, and can only eat through a feeding tube. Jayse's family was featured in a February 15 article in the Times Herald.
Jayse's grandmother Pam Richardson has been working with the Fighting Falcons on a fundraiser in Jayse's honor to benefit the CURED Foundation. The CURED Foundation will receive $2 from each $7 ticket to the March 16 Fighting Falcons game purchased through Richardson.
The Fighting Falcons have donated a St. Patrick's Day jersey to be raffled off along with other prizes during the game. The CURED Foundation will also hold a bake sale to raise money.
Richardson has sold over 180 tickets so far, including a 50-ticket purchase by a local woman who could not make it to the game, but purchased the tickets as a donation the foundation can use in other fundraising efforts between now and March 16.
If you would like to purchase tickets through the CURED Foundation, or learn how about other ways you may be able to contribute to their cause, contact Pam Richardson at nprich2000@aol.com. For more information about the CURED Foundation, visitcuredfoundation.org
