PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce a new contest, giving fans an opportunity to win a pair of tickets to the team's 2013-14 home opener Saturday, September 28 against the Michigan Warriors.
If the team reaches 1500 "likes" on its Facebook page herebefore the home opener, a winner will be selected at random to receive two free tickets.
The team reached 1000 "likes" this morning, and Trevor Mamps became the lucky winner of a pair of game-used autographed gloves.
The Fighting Falcons plan to run numerous contests throughout the 2013-14 season to reward their fans for spreading the word about the Junior A hockey team. Contests may be based on Facebook fans, Twitter followers, or fans in attendance at the team's home games at McMorran Arena.
An attendance-based contest that could produce a big winner is currently in the works. More details will be released in the coming days and weeks.
The Fighting Falcons return to McMorran Arena for their fourth NAHL season this fall. The team will play 28 home games in downtown Port Huron. Season ticket packages start at just $175, and the first 25 fans to purchase two or more full season ticket packages will receive a free game-worn Fighting Falcons jersey.
