Fighting Falcons' 2013-14 Regular Season Schedule Released

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, today announced their regular-season schedule for 2013-14. The Fighting Falcons will begin their fourth season of NAHL play this fall.

The 2013-14 regular season will consist of 60 games. The Fighting Falcons will play 28 games at McMorran Arena, 28 true road games, and four games at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN.

Port Huron's home opener will take place Saturday, September 28 when they take on the Michigan Warriors. The home opener follows three road games and the NAHL Showcase.

The majority of the Fighting Falcons' schedule is based on divisional matchups with the Janesville Jets (4), the Johnstown Tomahawks (6), the Michigan Warriors (6), and the Soo Eagles (6). The team will play four non-division games with the Wenatchee (Washington) Wild as well, hosting the Wild October 12 and 13, and making the 2300-mile trip to Wenatchee March 21 and 22.

"Getting the new schedule out is a huge step towards next season, and allows us to move forward with our plans for the year," said Fighting Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Michael Gershon. "Now that we have our game days locked down we can continue to develop and finalize our promotional schedule.

"We're excited that the North Division remains mostly unchanged from last season, and we look forward to maintaining our competitive rivalries here in the Midwest," Gershon added.

The monthly breakdown of Port Huron's home games are as follows:

September: 1

October: 3

November: 3

December: 6

January: 6

February: 5

March: 4

In an effort to avoid scheduling conflicts with the ever-popular high school football season, the Fighting Falcons will not play a Friday home game until November 8. The schedule breakdown by day is as follows:

Friday: 8

Saturday: 12

Sunday: 5

Wednesday: 3

All Friday and Saturday games will start at 7 p.m. Sunday games will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday night games will start at 6 p.m.
