Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Cumulus Media have announced a partnership that will see Fightins games broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 98.5 FM and 1240 AM. The pairing will also see the Fightin Phils have a presence on The Big I105 FM, including the popular morning show Murph & Casey.
"It's only natural that the Reading Fightin Phils partner with two leading stations like CBS Sports Radio 98.5 FM/1240 AM and The Big I105, and we couldn't be more excited for our partnership with the stations," said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. From having our games broadcast on a sports station like CBS Sports Radio to having Murph and Casey from The Big I105 at FirstEnergy Stadium, fans can look forward to a dynamic synergy between the Fightins and WIOV."
The Fightin Phils radio broadcasts begin on Tuesday, April 7th when the Fightins head to Allentown to face the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the 222 Showcase at 6:35 p.m. The club's first game of 2015 follows two days later on April 9th when the team opens the season in Portland at 6:00 p.m.
Live coverage begins 30 minutes prior to the start of each Fightin Phils game with the pre-game show hosted by play-by-play announcer Mike Ventola. On Fridays, the pre-game show is expanded to an hour, feature exclusive interviews and content from Baseballtown.
"This is a great day for 98.5 FM and 1240 AM CBS Sports Radio and The Big I105. We are really looking forward to a long partnership with the Reading Fightin Phils, and are happy to bring a home team with rich history in the community to our listeners", said Rich Creeger, Programming Director for 98.5 FM and 1240 AM CBS Sports Radio and The Big I105.
