Syracuse Crunch News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Donate new or gently used stuffed animals for the Syracuse Crunch's fifth-annual Stanley Steemer Tired Teddy Toss on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. when the Toronto Marlies visit the War Memorial Arena and be entered to win four Destiny USA Winter Fun Day Passes.
The Crunch and Stanley Steemer are encouraging fans to join them this holiday season in collecting new and gently used stuffed animals for local children. For each stuffed animal fans bring to the Crunch office by Friday, Dec. 11, they will receive one raffle ticket to win four Destiny USA Winter Fun Day Passes. The drawing will be held during the game. The winner does not need to be present.
Additionally, any fan who brings a stuffed animal to the War Memorial will receive $5 off their ticket for Dec. 12. Fans can redeem this discount at the War Memorial Box Office beginning today.
When the Crunch score their first goal on Dec. 12, fans will toss the puffy pets onto the ice. The cuddly critters will be collected and refurbished by Stanley Steemer before being donated to The Salvation Army.
Once the stuffed animals are collected and refurbished, they will be brought to The Oncenter for a special Christmas Bureau Distribution event and handed out to children and families in need. Over the last five years, almost 15,000 families and 37,000 children have been served through this event.
"We're excited to partner with the Syracuse Crunch for the annual Tired Teddy Toss," said Stanley Steemer President Jeff Trisciani. "We will be cleaning all the stuffed animals by hand at the local office, so they are refurbished like new. Then, they will be given out to local children at The Oncenter just in time for Christmas."
Stanley Steemer is locally owned and operated. Stanley Steemer is the first carpet cleaning service to be certified by the asthma and allergy foundation, by removing an average of 94 percent of common household allergens.
Syracuse Crunch single game and season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased either in person at the Crunch Box Office located in the War Memorial at 800 South State Street in Syracuse or by calling the office at 315-473-4444.
