December 8, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves defenseman Scooter Vaughan will visit libraries in Naperville and Wheaton on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to launch the 21st season of the "Read to Succeed" program, presented by Butternut and J.U.L.I.E. Call 811.

The 26-year-old Vaughan, a University of Michigan graduate who's a business entrepreneur off the ice, will speak to children at 4:30 p.m. at Naperville's Nichols Library (200 W. Jefferson Ave.). His program at the Wheaton Public Library (225 N. Cross St.) begins at 7 p.m.

The Read to Succeed program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources libraries offer. Vaughan will discuss the benefits of reading outside the classroom and reveal how it played an important part in his life as a student and continues to matter in his fifth year as a professional athlete.

Participants can win prizes -- including Wolves ballcaps, sunglasses, and tickets to upcoming games -- for setting and achieving reading goals.

Over the next four months, Wolves players will visit libraries throughout the Chicago area and more than 17,000 children will participate in Read to Succeed activities. To find the players' appearance schedule or to learn more about Read to Succeed, visit ChicagoWolves.com/Community.
