Fico to Return in 2022

The Blowfish Baseball Club announced today that head coach Fico Kondla will once again oversee the team for the 2021 season. He led the team to a 24-19 winning record during the 2021 Coastal Plain League season-just one game short of making the CPL playoffs.
"We are excited to have Fico return as the Blowfish skipper for the 2021 season" Co-owner Bill Shanahan stated, "Our players responded to his leadership skills and coaching experience We're looking forward to building on this past season's winning record."
Kondla is an assistant coach at Newberry College and a graduate of Coker College, where he was a 2-time team captain and All-Conference standout. He also served as the top assistant coach in 2018 and 2019 with the Morehead City Marlins. During those two seasons, the Marlins won back to back CPL Pettit Cup Championships.
"I'm fortunate to be a part of a first class organization like the Lexington County Blowfish for another summer", Kondla said, "We are really excited on how the roster is shaping out. We are bringing back a good core of guys from last summer mixed it with some new faces."
