Tri-Cities Fever News Release

The Tri-Cities Fever added two big playmaking wide receivers to its roster Monday, signing Oliver Young and Augustine Agyei.

Young, who was on the Carolina Panthers roster earlier this year, was a standout at South Carolina State University. He led the team in 2009 with 65 catches for nearly 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. He had over 2,000 career receiving yards while at S.C. State.

Agyei was an all-conference receiver in 2009 at Colorado State-Pueblo and invited to a tryout with the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this year. Agyei had more than 1,200 all-purpose yards as a senior and broke all-time school record in kick return yards.

Steve Brazzle became the fourth Fever player from the 2010 roster to sign with an Arena Football League team in the past two months, signing with the expansion Pittsburgh Power last week. Brazzle, was a 6-2, 310-pound center out of Florida A&M.

"This offseason we have moved several players up to the CFL, UFL and the AFL," coach Adam Shackleford said. "We are proud of what these young men have accomplished and wish them the best.

These signings further show that Tri-Cities is a good place to come and play football because of its great ownership and ability to move players on to the next level."

Lineman Blair Boynton, defensive back Dwain Crawford, and receiver Thyron Lewis are the other three players to sign AFL contracts this offseason.
