Tri-Cities Fever News Release

Kennewick, WA- The 4 - 4 Tri-Cities Fever travel into Corpus Christi, Texas to take on the 5 - 4 Hammerheads on Sunday at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. the Fever defeated the Hammerheads at home in the first game of the season 47 - 46, but both teams have under went drastic changes in personnel since then and Sunday's game looks to be a battle of two different teams.

This game looks to be a two-part battle with the Fever's #5 ranked passing offense in the League going up against the Hammerheads #5 ranked passing defense. The other part will be the Hammerheads #3 ranked rushing offense against the Fever's improving, yet #15 ranked rushing defense. Leading that potent rushing attack for the Hammerheads will be 6'2" 290 lbs. Fred Wallace who schored six times in the season opening game against the Fever at the Three Rivers Coliseum. He currently ranks 9th in the League in rushing with 327 yards and 16 touchdowns. Also in the Hammerhead backfield at the same time is 6' 250 lbs. Mike Green. A former Tennessee Titan and NFL Europe rushing champion. Green is a force in himself.

The Fever are countering this rushing attack with the recent signing of safety Levi Madarieta from the Montana Mavericks. The 6'3" 225 lbs. Madarieta played his college football at BYU and the Fever are expecting him to be an impact player in the secondary. he was acquired in a trade with the Montana Mavericks for nose guard Karl Kuhua-Liftee. They have also added offensive and defensive lineman Robert Polecki from Idaho State University.

Another interesting match-up Sunday will be Hammerheads wide receiver and kick returner Eddie Miller and the Fever's running back and kick returner Jarvis Dunn. Both are big time playmakers for their respective teams and that shows up in the stats column. Miller is ranked 4th in kick-off return average overall in the NIFL and 3rd in all-purpose yardage. Dunn, who led the NIFL last season in kick-off return average is currently sitting 6th in all-purpose yardage.

Fever's Mike Rigell ranks 2nd in the NIFL in receptions with 49, and ranks 5th in receiving yards with 514.
