
Ferguson Ends JTF's 2016 Chapter in Style

Collin Ferguson ended the Modesto Nuts' 2016 home schedule with a walk-off RBI single to give the Nuts a 3-2, eleven-inning win to sweep the JetHawks on Sunday night at John Thruman Field.
It is the Nuts' (30-33; 56-78) fourth win in a row marking their longest win streak of the year.
Josh Fuentes tied the game in the third with a two-out, two-run single off JetHawks' (37-26; 72-61) starter Scott Weathersby. Neither team scored again until eleventh when Alex Winkleman (L, 0-5) walked Shane Hoelscher to begin the final frame. Dom Nunez sacrificed him to second before Drew Weeks was intentionally walked.
Ferguson followed and rolled a single into right to give the Nuts the win.
Troy Neiman (W, 7-4) had worked a clean eleventh with two strikeouts to set up the walk-off winner.
Parker French starter for the Nuts and surrendered single runs in the first and second innings, but was lights out from there. The righty worked seven innings and surrendered just two hits after the second with one strikeout and two walks.
