Fellman, Justice Returning to RedHawks

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have re-signed RHP Nick Fellman and OF Justin Justice, the Northern League club announced today. Both players were key members of the RedHawks' Northern League Championship club last season.

Fellman, 24, was 6-5 with a 4.58 ERA in 24 games (13 starts) in 2009. In 98.1 innings pitched, he allowed 62 runs (50 earned) on 105 hits. Fellman struck out 51 batters, walked 34 and held opponents to a.267 batting average against him. Fellman's ERA ranked ninth in the Northern League and he was selected to pitch in the 2009 Northern League All-Star Game.

Fellman was invaluable in the post-season as the RedHawks cashed in on the championship. He appeared in six games and was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Fellman threw 7.0 innings hitless innings, walked five and struck out six. He was the winning pitcher in both series-clinching games (Game 5 vs. Winnipeg; Game 4 vs. Gary).

Fellman is entering his fourth season of professional baseball in 2010. He was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 12th round of the 2007 draft out of Minnesota State University Mankato. Fellman is a native of the Twin Cities.

Justice, 24, batted.277 with 18 doubles, eight triples, 13 home runs, 51 RBIs and 52 runs scored in 88 games for Fargo-Moorhead in 2009, his first with the club. He finished second in the Northern League in triples, and his.524 slugging percentage was good for fourth overall.

Justice appeared in 78 games in the outfield for the RedHawks and recorded eight outfield assists while posting a.983 fielding percentage. Justice also recorded 11 stolen bases in 14 attempts.

Justice was originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 34th round of the 2004 draft. He spent five seasons in the Tigers organization and advanced to Double-A Erie in 2008.
