February Edition of the Inside Pitch Airs Wednesday
WINNIPEG, MB - "The Inside Pitch," the off-season radio show of the Winnipeg Goldeyes, returns to the airwaves Wednesday, February 27th on the Goldeyes' official broadcast partner 93.7 FM CJNU.
"The Inside Pitch" airs live on the final Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Central Time (remaining list of show dates below).
Wednesday's guest panel includes Goldeyes' manager Rick Forney, inaugural Milwaukee Milkmen manager Gary McClure, new Goldeyes' first baseman Correlle Prime, MLB Network Analyst Mike Petriello, and Cleburne Railroaders' hitting coach John Rodriguez.
Forney is heading into his 14th year as Goldeyes' manager, and his 23rd overall within the organization. During his first 13 seasons at the helm, Forney has guided Winnipeg to an overall .545 winning percentage, 10 winning seasons, nine playoff appearances, and an American Association-record three championships (2012, 2016, 2017).
McClure takes over the expansion Milwaukee Milkmen who will begin play in the American Association this season. The Keosauqua, Iowa native previously managed two prominent college summer wood bat league teams, piloting the Northwoods League's Battle Creek Bombers and the Prospect League's Kokomo Jackrabbits. McClure served as head coach at Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, Tennessee) from 1988-2015 where he set program and conference records for wins.
Prime was acquired from the Can-Am League's Rockland Boulders on December 19th. The Bradenton, Florida native hit .279 with seven home runs and 42 RBI for the Texas AirHogs in 2018. Prime was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th round in 2012, and has reached the Double-A level three times in seven professional seasons.
Petriello serves as an analyst for MLB Network and MLB.com with a focus on modern analytics. The Brick Township, New Jersey native also hosts the "Statcast Podcast," while having previously written for ESPN Insider and FanGraphs.
Rodriguez was announced as Cleburne's hitting coach on January 16th. The New York, New York native played two seasons in the Major Leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals from 2005-06. Rodriguez hit a combined .298 in the Majors, and helped the Cardinals win the 2006 World Series. During his 17-year playing career, Rodriguez amassed more than 1,500 base hits, and was voted an American Association All-Star in 2013 while playing for the Wichita Wingnuts.
93.7 FM CJNU has been the Goldeyes' official broadcast partner since 2016, and will once again carry all spring training, regular season, and potential playoff games. Last October, the Goldeyes and CJNU extended their partnership through the 2020 season.
