FC Edmonton News Release

HEMPSTEAD, NY (August 5, 2014) - FC Edmonton takes to the skies and the road on a two-game road trip starting in New York on Wednesday, August 6 as the Eddies kick off against the Cosmos at 5:30 p.m. MT at James. M Shuart Stadium.

"The next two games look after themselves," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller. "We play against the New York Cosmos who will be looking to get back in the race after a loss to Carolina. We have to be prepared for the energy and enthusiasm that they will have."

A first half goal from Carolina's Ty Shipalane lifted the Carolina RailHawks to a 1-0 win over the New York Cosmos on Saturday evening at Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium.

While the Cosmos stumbled in their Fight for the Fall Season, FC Edmonton's season finally kicked off with a 3-1 win over league-leading San Antonio Scorpions on Sunday. Goals from Horace James, Tomi Ameobi and Daryl Fordyce saw the Eddies to their first victory of the North American Soccer League (NASL) Fall Season.

Only eight points off the pace, the next two matches for the Eddies are important for the Edmonton side to stay in the race for the post season championship. After Wednesday's match, FC Edmonton head to Minnesota to take on second place team Minnesota United FC.

Fans are able to watch FC Edmonton's game at the Pint Downtown at FC Edmonton official away match viewing party. For those unable to attend, they can register and login at www.nasllive.com.
