FC Montreal News Release
TORONTO, Ontario - FC Montreal will play its second of four consecutive games on the road this Wednesday at 11:30 am against Toronto FC II at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
Last Saturday, in the first game of this trip, Montreal lost 2-1 in Cincinnati in front of more than 14,000 fans at Nippert Stadium, the biggest crowd that the club's second team has played in front of since its inauguration in 2015. Despite the result, the group put forward a good performance, pushing until the end to come from behind.
Midfielder Mastanabal Kacher scored his first goal at the professional level with an amazing volley in the 90th minute.
"We need to build on the last game," said Mastanabal Kacher. "We did good things and committed fewer mistakes. Now we just need to get some points. I work on my finishing a lot in training; this first goal feels good."
The Canadian rivals faced off already in the beginning of the season, on April 9, at Montreal's Olympic Stadium. Toronto won 2-1 on goals from Raheem Edwards and Malik Johnson, while Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla scored for the Bleu-blanc-noir.
Edwards and Johnson are Toronto's top scorers this season with four goals each. The team's record currently stands at 3-7-3 record and 12 points, good for 12th position in the Eastern Conference.
"We expect a tight game against a rival, where the emotional aspect is always important," said head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. "We have to control our emotions, which cost us at least a point in the first game we played against them. If we score fast or allow a goal, we need to remain focused on the game plan. We hope to confirm the quality that we displayed in Cincinnati a few days ago. If we are capable of showing that quality, we should be able to cause some trouble for Toronto. We need everyone. Those who entered as substitutes in Cincinnati brought something more to the game. The group is even more important when you're on the road."
In 2015, both teams played each other four times, winning two games each.

After this game, FC Montreal will leave for the state of Pennsylvania, to face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday night at 7pm. The team will then end its four games in 11-day trip on Tuesday, June 21, at 7pm against the Harrisburg City Islanders.
